Perfiles. Shaddi Halul.

A unique bond

This is Shaddi Halul, an Israeli Christian citizen, enthusiastic defender both of the Aramaic culture of his own community and of the full integration in the State of Israel. He is a Major in the reserve duty of the Israel Defence Forces and founder of the Aramaic Association in Israel.
“I am a proud citizen of Israel, the Jewish state, while being a Christian, Aramaic and Maronite”, he told us.
Shaddi knows how to put into practice this combination of his two great loves: he is the founder of the “Kineret” Mechina (the preparatory course) , a joint Jewish-Christian framework for youth before their military service. Jewish youngsters must join the army at the age of 18, while Christians may volunteer. And they are doing so in increasing numbers
